Consistency Matters

Wednesday November 6, 10AM AEDT

SCIS's database is known for its high-quality catalogue records, but changes in cataloguing standards over the past 40 years have led to some inconsistencies. Join us for a webinar exploring key changes in these standards and how they’ve shaped SCIS records, with a look at what’s ahead. This session is ideal for school library staff familiar with cataloguing, but also useful for those new to the field.

Serious About Series

Tuesday November 12, 2:30PM AEDT

To answer questions like “What’s the next book in the series?” a library catalogue needs accurate series information and an up-to-date authority list. SCIS has provided series title access for 40 years, and in 2018, we introduced a series authority list to enhance retrieval of series data. In this session, we’ll explore the challenges of cataloguing series and how they impact search results.
